A record of the journey of two tramping buskers, designed especially to provide useful information about street performance in particular towns and transportation and accommodation options for the budget adventurer, including hitchhiking, couchsurfing and thrifty eating. This is a travel blog and a theatre blog.

History does tend to repeat itself until we actually learn from it. I read the Freegan sit, finding they were actually spawned by some NYC group that was something like Wetlands Alliance, oddly appropriate since much of NYC as well as almost every other major city by a body of water is built on filled wetlands. In reading their statements of principle, they seemed very like what we called counter-culturals in the 60s and 70s. They have no real concept of power and the organizing it takes to achieve the power to change society. The parent group has taken action in the form of picket lines and press conferences and won a few concessions from various minor capitalist entities.
My difficulty is that the parties who do understand the struggle to overthrow capitalism do not understand the actual crises we face and those who understand the crises have no understanding of the struggle for power.
There are too damn many closet socialists in the environmental movement. How to bring those individuals and the revolutionary parties together, that is the problem.
